Fon Festus Suh Director of Technical Services

Engineer Fon Festus Suh was born on the 25th September 1967 into the family of Papa Afrika Fontebereh and Mama Helen Bih. He attended Catholic School Alamatu Mankon in the North West Region of the Republic of Cameroon where he obtained the First School Leaving Certificate in 1979. In 1981 he proceeded to Government Technical College Ombe where he obtained professional certificates in Carpentry and Joinery and Building and Construction. He then proceeded to Government Technical High School Kumba where he obtained Probatoire F4 and Baccalaureat F4 in Building and Construction in 1988 and 1989 respectively. In 1991 He gained admission into Abubakar Tafawa Balewa (Federal University of Technology) Bauchi and in 1995 he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering. He returned home thereafter and was recruited by the Bamenda Urban Council in 1997 where he has served in the following capacities:

  • Chief of Technical Service in Bamenda Urban Council from 1997-2009;
  • Chief of Infrastructure Promotion Service in Bamenda City Council from 2010 – 2014;
  • Director of the Department of Technical Services in the Bamenda City Council from 2015 till date.

He has also acquired in-service training through so many capacity building workshops and internships in Holland and France in 1996 and 2012 respectively. He is the author of structural calculations and details for so many storey buildings in Bamenda City and beyond. He controls and supervises civil engineering projects in collaboration with Government Technical Services or consultancy services and on private bases. He is a member of the National Order of Cameroon Civil Engineers. He is married and a father of five (05) children.
